Airsoft Rifle Magazines

Your rifle is only as good as the magazines feeding it. Whether you run a hard-hitting gas blowback M4 or a reliable electric AK, having a rig full of spare mags means you keep firing while everyone else is fumbling for a reload. Rifle magazines are the spares every skirmisher needs more of, and getting the right ones for your platform matters.

We stock airsoft rifle magazines for the most popular platforms on the field, including M4, AR, and AK styles in both electric and gas. From polymer mid-caps and high-capacity hi-caps to metal gas mags, you will find spares to match your rifle below. Browse the range and keep your primary fed.

Electric or gas rifle magazines

The first thing to know is whether your rifle is electric or gas, because the magazines are completely different.
AEG rifle magazines are for electric guns. They are lighter, hold their BBs in a spring-fed mid-cap or a wind-up hi-cap, and come in capacities from realistic 30-round counts up to several hundred rounds. They are affordable and you will often carry several.
Gas rifle magazines are for gas blowback rifles. They are heavier metal units that also store the green gas or CO2 that powers the gun. They hold realistic capacities, cost more, and need a bit of maintenance, but they are essential to the realism of a GBBR setup.
Buying the wrong type is the most common magazine mistake, so always confirm whether your rifle is AEG or gas before ordering spares.

Platform and fitment matter

Beyond electric or gas, rifle magazines are shaped for a specific magwell. M4 and AR-15 style mags follow the STANAG pattern, while AK magazines have their distinctive curved profile and a different rock-in fitment. They are not interchangeable, so match the magazine to your rifle’s platform.
Within a platform there is usually good cross-compatibility for electric mags, as most AEG M4 magazines follow the same standard. Gas magazines are far fussier and are best matched to the exact brand and system of your rifle.

Choosing capacity for your playstyle

For electric rifles, the big choice is mid-cap versus hi-cap. Mid-caps look realistic, feed silently, and suit milsim, while hi-caps hold more and mean fewer reloads for fast skirmish play. Gas rifle mags hold realistic counts by their nature, so you simply carry more of them.
Whatever you run, a few spares on a good rig is the difference between staying in a push and walking back to respawn. To kit out the rifle itself, browse our electric AEG rifles and gas blowback rifles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are AEG and gas rifle magazines interchangeable?

No. AEG magazines are spring-fed units for electric guns, while gas magazines store gas and BBs for gas blowback rifles. They are built completely differently and are not interchangeable. Always confirm whether your rifle is electric or gas before buying spare magazines.

Will any M4 magazine fit my AEG?

Most electric M4 and AR-15 magazines follow the STANAG standard and have good cross-compatibility, but there are exceptions, especially with proprietary or older guns. It is always worth checking that a magazine is listed as compatible with your specific model before buying.

How many rifle magazines should I carry?

For hi-caps, two or three covers most days. For mid-caps or gas magazines, carry four to five plus one in the rifle so you are never caught reloading at the wrong moment. Pair them with mag pouches that let you reach spares quickly.
